Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why does Cura use bamboo?
A. Traditional bandages are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). PVC can take over 300 years to decompose and is not an optimal material for wound care. Cura, however, uses thin bamboo sheets as the material for our bandages that decompose in only 4-6 months.

Q: What are Cura bandages made from?
A: Cura bandages are made with a soft bamboo fiber outer layer that allows the skin to breathe while protecting wounds from dirt and bacteria. The absorbent pad is created from a plant-based material that helps draw moisture away from the skin. Our adhesive is a medical-grade, hypoallergenic formula that is safe for even the most delicate skin. Every component is chosen with sustainability and comfort in mind.
Q: Are Cura bandages biodegradable?
A: Yes. Cura bandages are designed to naturally break down under composting conditions. The bamboo fabric and pad are fully compostable in a home or industrial compost system. The adhesive is formulated from biodegradable compounds that minimize environmental impact. Always check your local composting rules for proper disposal.
Q: Are Cura bandages safe for sensitive skin?
A: Yes. Cura was created specifically for people with sensitive or easily irritated skin. Our gentle adhesive adheres securely without pulling or leaving residue, and the bamboo fabric is soft and breathable to prevent friction and discomfort. The entire product is latex-free, fragrance-free, and tested for hypoallergenic safety.
Q: Do Cura bandages contain latex or synthetic plastics?
A: No. Cura bandages are completely free from natural latex, synthetic rubber, and common plastics found in conventional bandages. This makes them suitable for those with latex allergies or people looking to
reduce single-use plastic waste in their daily routines.
Q: What sizes and shapes are available?
A: While Cura only offers one shape currently, we are looking to expand our product lines into multiple different sizes. Our standard rectangular strips are ideal for small cuts and scrapes, while rounded corner designs help reduce edge lifting.
Q: How long will Cura bandages stay on the skin?
A: When applied to clean, dry skin, Cura bandages can stay securely in place for 24 to 72 hours depending on movement, moisture, and skin type. They are water-resistant but not waterproof, so it is best to replace them after heavy sweating or swimming to maintain cleanliness and adhesion.
Q: Can Cura bandages be used on children?
A: Yes. Cura bandages are safe for children and gentle enough for daily use. The soft bamboo texture prevents irritation, and our playful kid-friendly designs make first aid more fun. We offer collections featuring fruits, ocean life, sports themes, floral patterns, and bright solid colors that children enjoy choosing from.
Q: Are the printed designs environmentally safe?
A: Yes. All Cura prints use non-toxic, water-based inks that are free from harsh solvents and chemicals. These inks are certified safe for skin contact and are designed to degrade safely without releasing harmful substances into the environment.
Q: Are Cura bandages sterile?
A: Each bandage is individually wrapped and sealed in a hygienic environment to ensure it is clean and ready for use. While our bandages are made with high cleanliness standards, they are not considered sterile for surgical or hospital use. For serious or deep wounds, consult a healthcare professional.
Q: How should used Cura bandages be disposed of?
A: Used bandages that are lightly soiled can be placed in compost systems and may also be allowed by local composting programs. If the bandage is heavily used or contaminated with blood, it should be disposed of in regular household waste. We recommend researching and following local waste guidelines for compostable materials.
Q: Do Cura bandages contain medication or antibacterial agents?
A: No. Cura bandages are free from antibiotics, ointments, or added chemicals. They are designed as clean, breathable coverings that allow the body’s natural healing process to work effectively. You may apply your own doctor-approved ointment underneath if needed.
Q: Is Cura packaging recyclable?
A: Yes. All Cura packaging is made from recyclable cardboard and printed with soy or water-based inks. We avoid plastic wraps whenever possible and continue to improve our packaging for greater environmental responsibility.
Q: Where are Cura bandages produced?
A: Cura designs are developed in the United States, and production takes place through carefully selected partner facilities that follow ethical manufacturing and environmental safety standards. We work with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, fair labor, and product quality.
Q: Does Cura ship internationally?
A: Yes. We currently ship to most countries. Shipping rates and delivery times vary depending on location. International customers can see accurate shipping costs during checkout.
